Sophomore guard Martin Thomas hit 5-of-8 from 3-point territory and totaled 22 points to go with seven assists as he led the Knights to a 107-95 victory over No. 20 Allan Hancock (16-14) in the first round of the CCCAA Southern California Regional playoffs.

The San Diego City College men's basketball team is coming off one of its best regular seasons in recent history after going 20-8 and winning the PCAC South championship with an undefeated 8-0 record. On Saturday, the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference announced that Mitch Charlens was named Coach of the Year and student-athletes Caleb Singleton and Martin Thomas were named Co-Most Valuable Players of the league. Christian Jones, Chris Burton, and Mike Scott were also honored by being selected to the All-PCAC South second team.

KNIGHTS GO UNDEFEATED IN PCAC SOUTH

The Knights went an undefeated 8-0 in the PCAC South after dispatching the Southwestern Jaguars, 88-71, at Harry West Gym in the final game of the 2013-14 regular season. This is the fourth time under Head Coach Mitch Charlens that the Knights have won a conference title, but the first time that they've finished without a loss.

The Knights extended their winning streak to six games on Friday night after surviving a strong effort from MiraCosta. Free throws in the final minute were the difference as the Knights edged MiraCosta, 78-74.

The Knights opened the Pacific Coast Athletic Conference season with an 80-68 home victory over Cuyamaca on Wednesday night. Martin Thomas had 18 points and seven assists, while Mike Scott added 18 points and 10 rebounds in the Knights' fifth win in the last six games.

The Knights defeated Sierra College, 77-64, on Sunday to become champions of the Neil Edwards Classic as the only team to go undefeated (3-0) at the six-team tournament played at Citrus College. City's Martin Thomas was named Most Valuable Player of the tournament and Caleb Singleton was selected to the All-Tournament team.

Coming off a disappointing 14-16 record in the 2012-13 season, the Knights (1-0) started their 2013-14 campaign with an 87-78 victory over Los Angeles Pierce (2-2). Freshman Chris Burton led SDCC with 18 points, seven rebounds, and four assists while sophomore Martin Thomas added 16 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals in the opening night win.
