City Wins 2nd Straight, 8-4, Over Grossmont
The Knights scored a total of five runs in the 5th and 6th innings to turn a 4-3 deficit into an 8-4 victory over Grossmont on sophomore day. Rylee Leon had two hits with an RBI and pitched a complete game to help City earn its second consecutive win.

Catcher Dakota Chazaro got the Knights on the board first with a sacrifice fly in the opening inning that scored Nicole Fonti after she stole two bases.
The Knights went up 2-0 in the 2nd inning when Natalya Power's bunt single led to a throwing error that allowed Leon to come around from second base.
With City ahead 3-1 going into the 5th inning, Grossmont took its first lead of the game scoring three runss off a 2-run home run and an RBI ground-out.
The Griffins' lead didn't last very long as Leon came through with an RBI single in the bottom of the 5th to tie the game. Three batters later and with the bases loaded, Ailyn Zermano came in to pinch-hit and grounded out, but allowed Irina Lainez to score the go-ahead run.
After Leon retired the side in the top of the 6th, Savannah Turner singled in a run to give the Knights a 6-4 advantage. Two batters later, Savannah Ganzler hit a 2-RBI double to left field that push City's lead up to 8-4.
Grossmont threatened in the top of the 7th by getting two runners on with two out, but Leon ended the game by getting Grossmonts final batter to ground out.
The Knights will play their final game of the season at home against Palomar on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
