The Knights concluded the non-conference portion of the season with a 1-1 draw at Long Beach City with Alexander Torres scoring in his fifth straight game.
San Diego played all eight of the non-league games on the road and finished with a 4-1-3 record with the only loss coming to Arizona Western, a non-3C2A school.
The last time City had this good of a start to a season was in 2016 when they went 4-1-2 in the first seven games.
San Diego City fell behind in the first half against Long Beach with the Vikings getting the game's first goal in the 33rd minute.
The Knights were outshot 8-3 in the first half, but turned things around in the second half as they became more aggressive on offense.
Alexander Torres, who has been on a heater lately with seven goals in the last five games, scored the equalizer in the 64th minute off a pass from Danny Mckelliget.
