KNIGHTS WIN CONSOLATION CHAMPIONSHIP AT CITRUS TOURNEY
The Knights defeated Citrus, 83-75, on Sunday afternoon to win the consolation championship at the 2015 Neil Edwards, held at Citrus College. Leonard Allen was selected to the all-tournament team after scoring 21 points, grabbing eight rebounds, and blocking three shots against Citrus.

Spencer Mattox led City in scoring with 24 points and dished out five assists against Citrus, while Alex Wilbourn put up 14 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in the consolation final.
It was the second victory in three games over Citrus this season. The Knights (7-3) defeated the Owls, 80-65, at home in the season opener. Citrus returned the favor with an 87-81 win in the third place game of the Knights Invitational at City College.
The Knights were down, 26-25, with 5:56 left in the first half, but they closed the period with a 15-5 run to take a 40-31 halftime lead that they would not relinquish.
City went ahead by as many as 15 and did not let Citrus get any closer than eight points in the second half.
The Knights opened the tournament with a tough 75-73 loss to Moorpark College. They overcame a 12-point first half deficit and took a nine point lead with 12:17 remaining in the game, but could not hang on.
Allen had 10 points, six rebounds, and six blocks against Moorpark. Mattox narrowly missed a triple-double with 17 points, nine rebounds, and nine assists. Taylor Nelson also put in 17 points.
In the consolation semifinals, Wilbourn led the Knights with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 75-72 overtime win over Orange Coast College. Allen recorded nine points, 11 rebounds, and four blocks in the victory.
The Knights were up by as many as 19 in the first half, but Orange Coast came back and took the lead midway through the second half. The game was close for the final 10 minutes and went into overtime where 10 of the Knights' 12 points came on free throws. Wilbourn's dunk with 1:07 left was their only made field goal of the extra period.
City will be back in action at the Grossmont tournament beginning on December 5 against Cuesta at 2 p.m.
