The Knights won their second consecutive game, and fifth in their last six, after holding off Palomar, 61-56, in the closing moments. Sophomore forward Chris Burton led the Knights with 15 points, four steals, and two blocks.

Christian Jones had 12 points and six assists, while Marcus Brumsey scored 10 points off the bench for SDCC.
The Knights scored the first seven points of the game and eventually went ahead by as many as 11 points in the first half, but Palomar cut SDCC's lead down to 31-25 at the half.
The Knights were seemingly in control of the game after going up by 13 points midway through the second half, but Palomar was not done fighting yet.
A 13-2 run by the Comets got them within two points with just over five minutes left.
Jones hit a three-pointer with 1:44 remaining to give City a 57-52 lead, but the Comet's Deven Riley, who led Palomar with 15 points off the bench, responded with a three-pointer of his own to get his team within two points.
After a Knights' turnover and a missed layup by Palomar, City's Brumsey drove through the lane and missed a layup, but got his own rebound and went back up for the putback layup with 14.8 seconds left to give the Knights a 59-55 lead.
Palomar's Matt Dunniphan was fouled on the ensuing possession, but was only able to make 1-of-2 from the line. Knights' guard Carl Flamer then hit two free throws on the other end with 3.1 left to seal the victory.
