LATE RALLY FALLS SHORT AGAINST NO. 8 SOUTHWESTERN
The Knights, who are currently ranked No. 14 in the state, put together a rally in the final minutes of Wednesday night's home game against No. 8 Southwestern (13-6, 4-0 PCAC South), but it fell short and the Jaguars held on for the 65-60 win at Harry West Gymnasium.

Sophomore forward Chris Burton led the Knights with 18 points, five rebounds, two blocks, and two steals.
Sophomore guards Christian Jones and Carl Flamer each had 11 points for the Knights.
The Knights (12-8, 3-1 PCAC South) ended the first half on an 8-3 run and went into the locker room with a 29-27 lead. Southwestern, however, started the second half with a 13-4 run to take a lead that they would never surrender.
Southwestern's size in the front court became a key factor in Wednesday's game. Jaguar forwards Yobby Williams and Sean Butts combined for 27 rebounds, 13 of which were came on the offensive end. The Jaguars outrebounded the Knights 54-34, and managed to grab 25 offensive rebounds which led to 21 second chance points.
Despite the disadvantage on the boards, the Knights still found themselves in a tight battle after a late rally. SDCC fell behind by as many as 10 points with 6:07 remaining, but a 9-1 run over the next five minutes brought the Knights to within two points with 1:03 left.
Southwestern responded with a layup, and then two free throws after a Knights' turnover to put the game away.
The Knights now turn their attention to another tough opponent on Friday night. They will travel to MiraCosta to face the No. 15 Spartans at 7:00 p.m.
