Mitchell's 6th Hit Gives City the Win
Blake Mitchell hit six singles in seven at-bats on Tuesday, including the walk-off hit that scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the 11th inning to end a 9-game losing streak. The 10-9 extra-innings victory was the third straight over Imperial Valley this season.

Starting shortstop Chris Marquez came in to pitch the final 2.1 innings and earned his first win of the year.
Marquez got the Knights on the board first with an RBI ground-out in the first inning, which was then followed by Daniel Tatis' sacrifice fly to put them up 2-0.
Tatis (single), Andres Johnson (single), and Landyn Magina (ground out) each brought in a run in the third inning to give City a 5-1 lead.
With the Knights up 6-2 after Oliver Faith's RBI single in the 5th, Imperial Valley put together its first rally of the game by scoring three runs in the top of the sixth to get within one.
City went back up by four after responding with three runs in the sixth and seventh innings, but Imperial Valley rallied back once again. The Desert Warriors posted three runs in the eighth inning and then tied the game on Angel Hernandez' squeeze bunt.
Both teams got a runner in scoring position in the 10th, but neither was able to score.
Then, in the bottom of the 11th, Ryan Selvaggi hit a one-out ground-rule double to center field. Two batters later, Jalen Cameron reached on a walk to set the stage for Mitchell.
With five hits on the the day already, Mitchell lined a single to center field that allowed Selvaggi to score the game-winning run from second base.
The Knights' dugout emptied out and celebrated the victory by mobbing Mitchell at first base.
City improved to 10-15 overall and 3-8 in the PCAC. The Knights have two more games left against Imperial Valley this week beginning with Thursday's contest at IVC. The season series will wrap up at Morley Field on Saturday at 1 p.m.
